Big Update! Amitabh Bachchan roped in for Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s film – Times of India

In what can be termed as a big news, legendary superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in for a crucial role in Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s upcoming project which is helmed by acclaimed director Nag Ashwin. Revealing the news through a teaser, the makers of this untitled film wrote on social media “Welcoming with a full heart, the pride of a billion Indians. The Amitabh Bachchan. Our journey just got BIG-ger!”

The 27-second teaser introduces Amitabh with the words “How can we try to make a legendary film without the legend Amitabh Bachchan.” A glimpse of some iconic roles played by the 77-year-old thespian can also be seen in the clip. Prabhas took to Instagram and shared that it’s a dream come true for him to share screen space with the legend.

Directed by ‘Mahanati’ fame Nag Ashwin, the multilingual project is touted to be a first-of-its-kind sci-fi drama set in the backdrop of a third World War. While the pre-production works are expected to kick-off once the prevailing COVID-19 situation gets back into normalcy, the film will be helmed on a massive scale with a hefty budget. Recently, speculations went rife that popular actor Arvind Swami is in consideration for a pivotal role in the film. Legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is acting as the mentor for the epic project referred to as #Prabhas21.

Recently, Prabhas jetted off to Italy for the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Radhe Shyam’. Starring Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, the romantic-drama is set against the backdrop of Paris in the 1920s. Besides these two projects, the 40-year-old actor is joining hands with ‘Tanhaji’ director Om Raut for ‘Adipurush’ where he will be seen as Lord Rama with Sai Ali Khan playing the role of Lankesh.
