Exclusive! Dharmendra: “Ahana’s twins is my biggest gift for my birthday today and she gave it in advance” – Times of India

Dharmendra turned 85 today. Talking to ETimes this evening, he said that he has been flooded with phone calls and text messages wishing him a ‘Happy Birthday’, since morning. When we had spoken to Hema Malini on December 1, we had learned that Dharmendra was yet to visit them (at Ahana‘s Worli residence). But now Dharmendra, who has parked himself at his Lonavala farmhouse largely post COVID, eventually has.

“Yes, I have seen Ahana’s twins. I am here in my Juhu bungalow in Mumbai today but for just a day or two. The two kids, Astraia and Adea, are the biggest gift for my birthday today. And I got the gift in advance,” he said, sounding simply delighted. Ahana delivered on November 26.

Next, Dharmendra said he soon starts shooting for ‘Apne 2’ which stars Sunny, Bobby and Sunny’s son Karan too. ‘Apne 2’, directed by Anil Sharma, will be Karan’s second film after ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Pas’ (2019). What’s that one thing which he still hasn’t done? “I don’t know but I just feel that we need to keep moving in life. You need to keep yourself busy all the time. There should be excitement, there should be work, there should be positive thinking.”

And how has the day gone today, we asked? “It has gone, by and large, quietly. Honestly I don’t celebrate my birthday these days, after my mother passed away; I miss her a lot. Ma hoti hai to ghar mein raunak hoti hai, ek warmth hoti hai. Besides, COVID ki vajah se koi zyaada aata-jaata bhi nahin.”
