Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up about nepotism in Bollywood, says there are many star kids who have not made it – Times of India

Apart from the pressure of being the sister of a superstar, Kareena Kapoor Khan says she has had her share of struggles in the film industry. The Diva also pointed out the fact that there are so many star kids who have not made it in the industry.
Talking about the ongoing debate on nepotism in Bollywood, Kareena reportedly said success don’t come to people just because they are somebody’s daughter or son. According to her, it, however, does open a door or give people an opportunity. But after that, you have to prove yourself.

Kareena also talked about what it was to be superstar Karisma Kapoor’s sister when she started her journey in Bollywood. Bebo revealed that she used to lurk behind the cameras on the sets and admire her sister’s work. Kareena also stated that she aspired to be Karisma Kapoor.
Elaborating further, the ‘Jab We Met’ actress added that she also struggled a lot to break away from the shadow of Karisma. According to Kareena, there were huge expectations and hopes riding on her.

Today, although Karisma is away from the silver screen, she is quite active on social media where she commands a huge fan following.

Meanwhile, Kareena is celebrating her 40th birthday today. The actress had a low key family gathering on the special occasion last night at her residence.

On the work front, she has some interesting projects like, ‘Takht’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
