Sushant Singh Rajput case: Judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, Showik, Dipesh, Samuel Miranda extended till Oct 6 – Times of India ►

Rhea Chakraborty’s 14-day judicial custody ended today, after she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on (NCB) September 9, but her custody has been extended by the sessions court. According to Times Now, Rhea was presented before the judge via video conference and after hearing both the sides, the custody was extended till October 6. Since it was just a remand production there was no bail application attached to it, reported the channel. Apart from Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s personal staff members – Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda have also been sent to judicial custody till October 6. According to Times Now, the NCB is expected to file an application before the Sessions Court seeking 1-day police custody of Showik and Sushant’s personal staff member Dipesh Sawant.

Earlier today, Rhea and Showik filed an application for bail in the Bombay High Court. Advocate Satish Manshinde had shared in a statement, “Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty have filed an application for Bail in the NDPS Case in the Bombay High Court. It is coming up for hearing on 23rd Sept 2020 before Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The details of the bail applications will be shared after the hearing on 23rd Sept.”

Rhea and Showik were arrested by the NCB after their chat records mentioned drugs exchange. According to latest developments, several other Bollywood celebrities are also being named in the ongoing probe. According to Times Now several actors mentioned in “drug chats” are under the NCB’s scrutiny, the initials of five celebrities, namely – K, D, S, N, and J have been revealed, wherein D is allegedly being identified as Deepika Padukone. The NCB is also questioning Jaya Saha, who is an employee of the talent management agency KWAN and was Sushant’s talent manager, while they have also summoned Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash.
