Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea will be heard today by Justice Sarang Kotwal, confirms her lawyer – Times of India
Contrary to the reports of postponement of her hearing, Rhea’s lawyer said, “The hearing in Rhea Chakraborty bail plea will be taken up today 24th Sept at sr no 50 by Justice Sarang Kotwal BHC.”
Yesterday, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde shared a statement and updated about the postponement due to heavy rains. The statement read, “Chief Justice has declared holiday today for Bombay high court and today’s board will be taken up tomorrow ie 24th Sept.”
Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 9 in connection to drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe. Her 14-day judicial custody ended on Tuesday.
Rhea has said in her bail plea filed in the Bombay High Court that she is innocent and NCB is “deliberately” trying to invoke stringent charges against her and her family. She also said that she has been subjected to a “witch-hunt“. In her bail application filed in the HC on Tuesday, Rhea said she is just 28 years of age, and besides the probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), she has been subjected to three more investigations by police and central agencies, and a “simultaneous media trial”. She also said that all of this has taken a “severe toll on her mental health and well being” and any further custody will worsen her mental health.
The actress is currently lodged in the Byculla women’s prison in the city.
