Taapsee Pannu opens up about supporting Anurag Kashyap amid sexual harassment allegations, says if he is found guilty, she will break all ties with him – Times of India
Talking about why she feels so strongly about Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee told Mumbai Mirror that Anurag has a lot of respect for women. He never badmouths anyone even if that person hasn’t been kind to him in public. According to her, his sets are those rare ones where the number of women on the crew equals men, and they only have nice things to say about him. She added that if someone has been harassed, let them initiate an investigation, let the truth come out.
Elaborating further, she added that in case he is found guilty, then she will be the first person to break all ties with him. Taapsee also stated that it’s wrong for women to derail the movement. According to her, abusing power isn’t gender-specific.
Actress Payal Ghosh, who accused the filmmaker of sexual harassment and bad behaviour, filed a written complaint against Kashyap at Versova Police station in Mumbai. Her lawyer has released a statement which read, “A written complaint has been lodged for the offense Rape, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement and outraging the modesty of woman U/S 376, 354, 341, 342 of IPC and now the statement is being recorded of the victim.”
