Yami Gautam says her ‘impromptu’ wedding with Aditya Dhar happened because her grandma said ‘engagement isn’t part of our culture’ – Times of India
Citing the reason for her impromptu wedding, Yami told in a recent interview with a news portal that they didn’t plan it, and it happened in the most beautiful way. She added that this is actually what they both wanted and she is glad it resonated with so many people. Yami revealed that they started interacting during the promotions of ‘Uri’. And that is when they started wooing each other, and their friendship started.
Elaborating further, Yami added that they were initially just supposed to get engaged, and they were going to let time take its due course. However, her grandmother felt that engagement is not a part of our culture so they should get married instead. They both felt right and so they went ahead with it. The actress added that she is still not able to absorb the feeling of being married.
Yami and Aditya took to their social media handle and shared the news of their marriage along with beautiful pictures from their wedding days. The couple tied the knot on June 4, 2021.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Yami will next be seen in ‘Bhoot Police’ which also stars Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles. The film will release on an OTT platform.
Apart from this, she will also be seen in an upcoming direct-to-digital thriller, ‘A Thursday’.
Aditya, on the other hand, will be reuniting with his ‘Uri’ actor Vicky Kaushal for their upcoming superhero film, ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’. The movie will also star Sara Ali Khan as the female lead.
